Part 1 of 4: Join the Blogger Traffic Program(s)

Welcome to the first post in our exclusive series on boosting your revenue with Hometalk!

Whether you’re new to the Hometalk family of sites or a seasoned content creator, this four-part series is designed to help you reach the full potential of your Hometalk membership.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll dive into ways to leverage Hometalk’s Blogger Traffic Programs, optimize your content, participate in multiple verticals, and even how to explore potential branded content opportunities with Hometalk. Think of this series as your roadmap to Hometalk success!

These posts are brought to you by Hometalk’s Senior Community Manager, Amanda, who will guide you through the logistics, rules, and important details of our creator programs. Plus, Hometalk’s favorite ambassador & blogging super-star KariAnne Wood will be sharing her expert advice, blogging tips, and personal insights from her own experiences on the Hometalk platform.

Join the Blogger Traffic Program

One of the best ways to drive traffic and grow your audience on Hometalk is through our Blogger Traffic Program. As a participant, you’ll get exposure for your content through Hometalk’s highly engaged audience and earn direct features directly to your personal blog. We promise a minimum of 2k views per direct feature - but some bloggers see way more than that!

The Blogger Traffic Program is only open to members who do have a personal blog where they share their own content.

There is a Blogger Traffic Program available on each site, though there are some variations between membership opportunities in each program.

If you’d like to join, please reach out to me at amanda@hometalk.com and I’ll be happy to help get you set up and on your way to a direct feature!

KariAnne's Expert Insight
I have been a part of the blogger traffic program for years. It’s an amazing way to drive extra page views to the blog and make extra money from ads. It’s one of my favorite benefits of the Hometalk partnership. The Hometalk community is so friendly and welcoming and they LOVE anything repurposed, reused, and reimagined.
If you don’t have a blog, I want to encourage you to start one. It’s such an amazing way to create new revenue streams and own your own content. Then join the Blogger traffic program and start earning.
And as you grow your blog, this program will help expand your platform. It’s also a great way to build your platforms to achieve any goals you may have to get into specific ad networks.

Earn a Direct Feature

When you’ve joined the Blogger Traffic Program, earning a direct feature is simple! With over 2 million email subscribers, our program brings significant traffic to our members' blogs.

To qualify for a direct traffic feature, bloggers need to upload three eligible posts to their Hometalk profile. To qualify toward the program, each of these posts need to meet our quality standards. While each site has specific guidelines to ensure top-quality content for our readers, these rules are easy to follow and ensure that your posts resonate with our audience.

Once you’ve shared three qualified posts, you’ll be added to our scheduling queue, where our content team will choose one of your provided links to feature in an upcoming newsletter. You’ll be notified of the feature date and which link will be used, giving you time to fully optimize that post and ensure your site is running smoothly on the big day.

On the day of your feature, simply sit back, relax, and watch the traffic roll in! From there, you can re-enter the scheduling queue every 30 days, making it possible to earn a direct feature each month. For some bloggers, this consistent visibility means an extra 2,000+ views sent to their sites monthly!

KariAnne's Expert Insight
For me, the blogger traffic program is so easy. I just upload three features every month, check to make sure they are accepted and then wait for my feature.
That’s it.
I am so thankful for Hometalk. This program has driven an average of 7,500 page views per month consistently between all of the Hometalk platform features. With all the Google updates, it’s so helpful to rely on traffic I can count on every month to make sure I’m making as much money as possible off the ads on my blog.

KariAnne has had over 88,000 visits sent to her blog thanks to Hometalk features! All members of the Blogger Traffic Program can see their total visits and features by looking at their blogger dashboard.

Make the Most Out of Your Features

We notify you in advance of your feature date, giving you plenty of time to ensure that your post is fully prepared. Here are some tips from our team to maximize the impact of your feature and keep readers engaged once they arrive on your post:

  • Check with Your Server/Host: Confirm that your website can handle the anticipated traffic boost, which can be anywhere from 2,000+ views.

  • Add a Strong Call-to-Action: Encourage readers to sign up for your newsletter to grow your audience.

  • Include Affiliate Links: Boost potential earnings by adding affiliate links where relevant.

  • Promote Your Products: If you have products to sell, include a clear CTA to showcase them.

  • Update Your Content: Refresh your post with any new images or videos to keep it looking its best.

Taking these steps will help you get the most out of your feature and make a strong impression on your new readers!

KariAnne's Expert Insight
Whenever I get the email letting me know I have a feature coming—I start preparing for all the traffic. Here are a couple of tips for when you featured to make sure you maximize your revenue:

  1. Check the blog post to make sure all your links are updated as well as add any new links. I typically add between 25-30 links per post.

  2. Welcome Hometalkers. I add a little blurb at the top to welcome Hometalkers to the post if they haven’t been introduced to me yet.

  3. As Amanda mentioned, make sure your opt-in for that post is relevant to the Hometalk audience. It’s a great way to get additional subscribers. I typically get over 100 new subscribers per featured post.

  4. It’s a great idea to add an email subscriber button to the center of the post as well. Don’t overlook any opportunity to introduce yourself to this new audience.

  5. Also make sure to include any digital products you have to sell in the post. You are getting this brand new traffic–so make sure to let them know if you’ve created an ebook or printables.

Once a feature has been scheduled, the blogger will receive an automated email notification letting them know the date and the link that will be used for their feature day.

Stay Consistent

The Blogger Traffic Programs are most effective for bloggers who post consistently. By sharing high-quality content each month, you not only maintain a steady flow of traffic to your site but also increase your visibility, opening the door to new opportunities. Consistent posting boosts your chances of being featured and helps you build a loyal audience, which can make your site more appealing to ad agencies, brands, and other partnerships.

KariAnne's Expert Insight
Even though my blog and social platforms have continued to grow, I still stay with the Hometalk platform. In this crazy world of blogging, it’s so important to be able to count on a partnership that consistently brings traffic to my blog.
I’ve even had readers send me links to my projects featured on Hometalk and told me how much they enjoyed seeing my content over there.

Closing

The Blogger Traffic Program is just the beginning of what you can do with the Hometalk family of sites! By staying active, sharing great content, and making the most of each feature, you’ll be setting yourself up for more traffic, loyal followers, and bigger opportunities.
