New Feature Alert: Nutrition Info on Posts

We're excited to announce that we've added auto-generated nutrition information to recipes on Foodtalk! Read on to find out how it works.

Check out the example in the screen shot below, or click here to see nutrition info live on Foodtalk.

Blueberry Cookies recipe by Reesa @ Mommalew.com

HOW IT WORKS

We collect all of the ingredients in the recipe, and use the smart technology provided by Edamam to calculate the calories and nutrition information per serving.

If Edamam's technology does not recognize an ingredient, it will tell us "No Nutrition Information is Available".

If you are sharing a recipe on Foodtalk, it’s a good idea to review the ingredients before you submit to make sure there are no typos and to make sure all of your measurements are numeric. For example, the technology won’t understand what a “pinch” of salt is, but it will recognise “1 teaspoon” of salt.

This feature is still in a trial/beta testing period so we would love to hear any feedback you have about it! Feel free to share your experience with your community manager.
