We’re headed into the last month of summer vacation before school picks back up. The whole month has “Sunday Scary Vibes” to it, but getting back into a routine doesn’t have to be nerve racking.

This month we’re taking a look at trends that help us organize and save time so we can get a grip on what’s to come.

Trending on the Hometalk Family of Sites

Here are the trends we're seeing across the Hometalk family of sites!

Hometalk Hits

Back to School

Do you have a teacher friend in your life? Check out this brilliant School Supply Cake idea from Chloe Crabtree. Teachers will also love this DIY Ruler Wreath by Laura Kelly Designs. This post from Chas’ Crazy Creations is full of back to school essentials that will help you save money and time.

Material Girls

Sometimes all you need to start a good DIY is a material to base the project around. Resin projects look beautiful, but did you know sometimes you can get the same effect from Elmer’s glue? Watch this video for some creative ways to use clear glue. Another trending material is PVC pipe; Mitch Couch has the perfect project for your end of the summer pool party. If your backyard is more garden than pool, then look at how Irma uses PVC pipe to create a raised garden bed.

Foodtalk Faves

I Can’t Believe This is Air Fried

This fried chicken looks delicious. The recipe might make you smile even bigger than a bite when you find out it leaves less of a mess! Kalisha shares this buttermilk fried chicken recipe on Foodtalk and on her blog Simplified Chef. If you are looking for air fry recipes that don’t revolve around meat, you have to see Gina’s perfect air fryer baked potato - this post already has 66K views!

Lucky Number 3

You’ve heard of ‘third time's a charm’ and that lucky number 3 is carrying over to the kitchen. Creators are loving three-ingredient recipes this season proving that sometimes less is more! Ala shows how to make a Japanese souffle cheesecake using only eggs, white chocolate, and cream cheese. Another great dessert recipe is Marina’s easy three-ingredient chocolate cake using only baking powder, milk, and cookies.

Upstyle Stars

Reusing old makeup

Makeup is pricey, so use every last drop! We want to see how creators are taking old makeup and turning it into something they can use. Jennifer Duval had the brilliant idea of making her own tinted moisturizer.

Easy DIY

You don’t need to know how to sew or knit to DIY your clothing. Some projects are so simple you can do them in a few steps. Grab any pair of denim jeans and switch up the style with one of these ideas from the DIY Designer where she shows how to distress, crop fray and more. Did you know you can also change the color of your clothes using the condiments in your kitchen? Over 81,000 people have viewed this fashion post from Craft Invaders which calls for ketchup.

Wows from the Web

We’re bringing inspiration from all corners of the web. Here’s what we’re seeing trending on social media.

Perfect for Hometalk…

Half-and-Half

Time to put the battle of natural wood vs. painted wood away. Both are beautiful and when a DIY can incorporate the two into one look… wow! Check it out for yourself in McKay Moody’s TikTok video.

Alternative Uses

Reaching for the aspirin usually means you have a headache, but Alexis Rochester’s blog Chemistry Cachet shows how you can use aspirin to remove sweat stains, treat pimples, and much more.

Perfect for Foodtalk…

Just Desserts

The heat has been unbearable lately and people are looking for any way to cool down. One of the biggest TikTok trends is DIY popsicles; some include alcohol and fresh fruit while others use cookie pieces and melted chocolate. You can use Kool-Aid to make your own ice cream, or turn the sugary powder into a slushie. We want to see all the different ways you can use Kool-Aid. Savvy Naturalista shows off 6 different Kool-Aid recipes in this post.

Perfect for Upstyle…

Self Care

Self care isn’t just for Sundays! Show us how you take care of yourself on a budget. Bellindah Gama kicks it off with this YouTube video on how to remove dead skin on your feet. Face it, you should feel good from head-to-toe. We started at the bottom so here’s a DIY face mask TikTok to top it off.

I love that Hometalk is acknowledging the "Sunday Scary Vibes" of August — that transition back to routine is always rough. The school supply cake idea is genius for teacher appreciation, and I'm definitely bookmarking that PVC pipe raised garden bed project for next spring. Speaking of quick daily rituals to ease back into a schedule, I've been doing the "krillion" trivia game each morning with my coffee — it's a nice low-pressure way to get the brain going before the chaos of school prep begins.

جلب الحبيب

Looking for something more complete than a regular massage, I chose this option after reading reviews. The Massage Service in Dwarka with Extra Service added thoughtful touches that elevated the entire experience. Everything felt private, hygienic, and carefully tailored to my comfort level.
